There's no denying that MySpace has become one of the most popular self-indulgences on the Web. I don't mean this in a nasty way; I have one too. What I mean is that people spend hours getting their MySpace profiles customized so that they look exactly as they want. Now if that's not self-indulgent...
On the other hand, there are good, sound, reasons for using MySpace for networking, and even business. Not least because it is an open network with millions of users, each of which could be a future friend, business associate, or even customer.
So, if you're looking to get started with your own customizations, I've put together a mini HTML tutorial, intentionally containing only the most basic HTML codes, and trying to remain easy to follow.
If I've missed anything, let me know, and I might even put together an HTML code guide for all the major online open access publishing platforms (Blogspot, MySpace etc. etc.)

Happy HTML coding!
